It was 14 when I went to bed last night, I believe it went a little lower. I slept late this morning and it was 16 when I awoke. I am burning Red Maple, Cherry, and Black Locust. My son just said it was 10 this morning,

Overnight low in the mid-teens here. The wind was picking up last night around 9:00; this morning was calm winds.

    Sunny out there now.

It was relatively warm last night. Around freezing. Been burning ash and elm. Mostly a lot of ash right now. There's going to be a lot of ash burning in my stove this year.

We had temps in the teens the other night though, and I put 1 split of 3 yr seasoned honey locust in with the rest of the overnight load being ash. That 1 locust split sure had a lot more coals left in the morning. The furnace never even kicked in first thing in the AM either.

17f headed down lower and snowing to beat the band. 20” of white stuff on its way to the Poconos...filled the bird feeders, stocked the fridge... soft maple, ash and red oak in the F55...bring on the winter.

Yup the people are very wimpish. In the old days after a few snows the snow mounds at the sides of the road would be as high as the street signs. Now the folks moan over not much of anything. What will they do when the real winters come back !

25*, snowing/sleeting/ wind gusting. Waiting for the heavier snow to come. Meanwhile oak, black cherry, black walnut. "Only" 73* downstairs. Actually turned blower on stove for the first time. But thats to help dry snow clothes. Having fun before its time to dig out. 20201216_163948.jpg
There is a sled under there somewhere.

Snowing now and going down to the low 20's tonight. Have a great fire going and am buring mostly black locust at the moment. The house is warming up nicely and I am enjoying a dark beer. We are on the edge of that storm that's hitting the northeast; only supposed to get 3-5". Peace.
