Saw an interesting sign on the Stihl 261 placeholder at the local hardware store this afternoon. Unavailable to order. They did have one m-tropic in stock on the shelf remaining.
I noticed that my closest Stihl dealer is basically out of saws, and has had several on order. A bigger dealer 20 some miles away has a better inventory, but I was told that the manufacture was badly behind so saws were getting a little hard to get. This is one reason I bought my 261 CM a few weeks ago and another reason I went back and bought the 462 CM also from the same place as it was the only 462 on the shelf at any of about 5 different dealers in the area, I had stopped by or called. There ain't no 362's either, that I seen. Oddly, one dealer did have a 500 i or whatever they are called, same dealer I bought the 261 and 462 from.
There it is! The 261 462 duo. Perfect. I’m going to get one soon and convert it west coast with set of spikes and our standard 3/8 .050 chain. That’s why I was looking.
Been at my OPE dealer couple times in the last week and the selection of Stihl saws is small. Mechanic there told me covid hit Germany hard and plants shut down. Theres a new 261 on FBM about two hours from me. Had a nice PM chat with the guy about saws today.
