The town took down some trees a few streets away. Some poplar and sugar maple but mostly ash. My neighbor who works for the town said it’s open game. I went and got a load of ash before the rain today. A guy who lives on adjacent property said he had 11 ash trees taken down and all the neighbors around there took all they need before these were taken down. I am going back tomorrow morning. [IMG]

Yes it is bucked. Some longer than 18” but I’m not looking a gift horse in the mouth!

Great score! Got to love how fast it dries plus it seems to keep for a long time. Defiantly agree grab all you can.

Rain or not, I'd have paused all plans and gone until the pile was done or I was too pooped to go back. Carpi Diem,

Great score Thom! Looks like real good & clean ash and cut mostly to a good size. I'd grab all I could.... when I get Ash i typically burn it after one summer, it allows me to give all the oak (and now for the first time black locust) another year to season. Ash is one of my favorites.

Keep up the great hording.... CT is abundant this year.

Dave, I feel the same way with the ash. It will get one summer and be ready next fall. I’ve gotten quite a bit of red oak and sugar maple lately and those need some time to season.
