Has anyone gone from a 70cc saw to a 60cc. I’ve been thinking about trading my 2172 jonsered in towards a 60cc class. I use the saw for felling and bucking and hardly ever get anything or 24 inches and I do have a 2152 will I feel a lack of power and regret if go down. If any feedback will be appreciated

If you use it for felling and bucking, probably. I have a similar 50cc/70cc (but much older) set up to what you have, a 55 rancher and a j-red 70e. When bucking the extra weight of the 70e isn’t bad because whatever I’m cutting is supporting most of the weight.
I also have a j-red 630 that doesn’t get much use because if I’m limbing, I use the 55 for the lighter weight and if bucking i want a bigger jump in power. Most of what I cut is also rarely over 24”
The 630 is great when the mood strikes and I only want to use one saw for everything.

I would personally keep your current saw. What is it worth? Buy a 60 as well.

What kind of condition is it in? If you just don't foresee a need for that much saw, maybe a downsize is a good idea. They aren't the lightest saw out there.

Before you trade it in, post some pics and a possible asking price. They are a very nice saw and you may get more money from someone here.

You can usually save a few lbs that you carry around and it will help. I'll say this, my 6421 dolkita weighs a good amount less than my buddy's magnum 460 and even with the same exact chain on them 20" 3/8 my saw cuts as fast as his saw despite being a 64cc to his 78cc saw. I haven't yet tried my other buddy's new 6100 Makita, but I bet that might be a a little lighter than my saw and possibly the same performance.
