That's pretty much when the drip seems to have started, a tank top-off from 3/8 to 8/8 (or wherever the whistle stop fills it to) . IS a lot of weight(change). Somewhere shy of 1,845 pounds. (225 gallon tank).
When I delivered oil I was taught to use the high speed pump as it saved time, especially with some days being 69 stops in 7 towns over the course of 14 hours no breaks. (Don't miss it BTW). We were told to "inspect" new customers tanks prior to the initial fill. Some of them looked pretty ratty, but when I asked my supervisor he said its only surface rust, fill err up. I recall thinking what if there is a pin hole leak, or the vents clogged. In talking to other oil guys, they say only use the low speed pump on older tanks which makes more sense to me provided you don't have a million tickets to do.
Not sure of exact species, not red or white, has a dark heart wood? But definitely a oak of some kind.
Hey Ohio dave .... I love watching the freighters up here on lake erie...how does your career work? Are you on the great lakes? Ever been docked in Ashtabula? My FHC hat off to you
Always been fascinated with the industry! Used to work with a lady whose husband worked on a Great Lakes freighter called the John G Munson. I’ll bet you enjoy the opportunity to cut firewood after being away for that many days in a row. Enjoy the time and hope your as productive as you hoped to be
Spent 15 yrs on the Great Lakes. The last 4 years I've been in the Gulf of Mexico. Spent alot of time loading in Conneaut the 1st several yrs on the Lakes. Not a whole lot in Ashtabula maybe 4-5 times a yr
I have been obsessed with everything to do with the Great Lakes. I have watched just about every documentary and video on YouTube. Love that those waters helped to build this country, and the rich history. I have yet to travel to the area, maybe one day.
Plans for today, and this week? Unfortunately not much, except work. Working 12 hours a day until Saturday morning. Was supposed to have Friday night off, because I had plans to take my son hunting, but had to cancel due to half of our supervisor staff out with covid. Sunday may just be a set up small bushcraft camp day.
I hope to get some more tractor work done today. In the process of filling in a long low spot in a section of trail. Pulling a few smaller stumps as well. But first, I keep thinking about the bills needing to get done. So that is going to happen right now. Have a great day hoarders!
Took me a second to realize what I was looking at. Looks like a pattern you would see on a moths wing!
