I’m already seeing concrete improvement just two days after getting the pacemaker. Two symptoms I was experiencing were nighttime shortness of breath when laying down, and serious shortness of breath when bending over to tie my shoes. Both are symptoms of heart failure, and both are already improving. I just bent over to tie my hiking boots and didn’t get short of breath at all. Before I would have had to lift one leg on top of the other knee to tie my shoes, or sit here breathing heavily for a couple minutes after bending over.

    Deo gratias!

(Bendopnea isn’t just caused by beer guts!)

Patient: “Doctor!? Doctor!? Will I be able to play the piano after my surgery?!?”

    Doctor: “Why yes, certainly!”

Patient: “Good! Because I can’t play the piano now!”

My Mother-in-law Judy has gone to see her husband Bruce, and her son Bruce. My wife, brother-in-law, and sister-in-laws have lost both parents in about two months. My kids. :(Ugh.:( It was tough telling them of this.

Sorry I've not kept up with this thread.

Judy still having a rough time. I may bring her home early and care for her myself. I'm not happy with the hospital.

Doctor says no rehab for her as she does not think Judy will make it without me and if rehab I'd have no contact at all. I agree. Fortunately the hospital understands and has bent the rules for us. I spend the day with her and nights if need be. Tonight I came home early because some medicine is making her sleep. She is aware of that as I talked to her before leaving. It is still tough coming home though.
