We got about 4in of the white stuff. Its wet and heavy. With a big of a crust on top.

I'll use my snowblower for the first time this season. Should be a sunny day, mid-30's. Im actully looking forward to playing in the snow. Come on daylight!

I'll have my grandson up today. This crusty stuff isn't good for making a snowman, but we'll goof around outside in it.

Good morning. I am going to pressure can venison stew, and later cook up 8 ruffed grouse for dinner with our daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, and our two boys.

We haven't seen them in over two weeks after our daughter and her husband contracted covid, so it is a special day for us.

They definitely cried wolf with this storm. I mean there is wrong and then there is c'mon, how can you be that wrong? They were still saying 12-18 inches last night and we're lucky if we got two (difficult to tell because of the high winds). I guess the positives are that it was a good dry run for the next 'real' storm and the power didn't go out (although it flickered a lot). The negative is that I'm sure most of the forest service roads will end up being closed around here and that really puts a crimp on my scrounging.

Still pretty windy here with some flurries and hanging around the 25 degree mark (not counting the wind chill). The wind was definitely whipping last night though and I had a first in the eleven+ years I've lived here. Took the dog out close to midnight and he bolted at something as soon as I opened the door. Turns out there were three ducks taking refuge under my deck (don't ask me what kind...they had webbed feet and wings). I've seen all kinds of wildlife around the house but never any ducks. Guess the storm blew them off course and they saw my deck lights as a beacon in the dark.

 

Glad they are better and y'all can visit.
