    Gopher, been after it since last week end. It's been...... evasive. Just kept telling myself- "It can win 10 times, I only have to win once."

    I just won. :yes:

    It's now hanging on a fence as a warning to all the others. Bring it, hellspawn rodents!!!

    We usually get around 25 coons every year. Not sure where we're at for this year but there have been lots.

    I worked with an older guy. He said that when he was young he'd shoot a bunch of woodchucks and his mother would cook them up to feed to the dogs. He said he'd usually eat most of it before the dogs could get any. I guess it was pretty good.

    I used to hang them from a limb, (away from the house)
    In a few days, lay down a piece of newspaper under it, shake the carcass & get fishing bait :)

    Our local sportsmens club runs a game dinner each year. One of the first things that goes every year is the "Terra-Porkus". Yup, young ground hog done in a "pulled pork" style. When you think about it, what does a ground hog eat. Actually quite tasty. The older ones are not quite as good.
