Red oaks down

Two down, a little challenging being in a hillside and sunk into the soft dirt. Strapped down my 180 for limbs and my Dolly 5105 for the trunk.
I'm guessing it's about 18" at the big end. I got 8 or 10 rounds bucked before I dulled my chain a little. I did get a clear circular path to drive my 4 wheeler and trailer fairly close. I'll get back another day soon with a semichisel chain that should last longer.

 

Sweet wood score! The area looks like woods outside my back fence line.

I love to stumble across that size and that condition!
Any better it would’ve been next to the trail.
I also like the rescue effort now and again. Keeps me in the woods a little longer.

I spent my weekend doing the same, fallen red oak on a hillside in Morgan county.

 

It's definitely not hard to find hillsides in my part of Morgan County.

I do most of my cutting in mooresville, alot on the west side and a little on the east side. I'm guessing your probably around martinsville, not too far away
