We bought our Fireview stove I think in 2007. I think I emptyed ashes from it once or twice when we first started running it. Since that time my wife has always handled that job. Well, she is in hospital and the ashes needed cleaned from stove so I did it. All went well. But now I'm also wondering if I'll also have to be cleaning the chimney the next time?!

Hi Dennis. I'm sorry to hear about Judy. We'll keep her in our prayers.
Question: Are you cooking now as well as emptying ashes? :faint:

You must have done a thing or two right in your time for your wife to manage the ashes and clean the chimney if I’m reading your post right! Praying her hospitalization is brief. If you need a hand with the chimney, I don’t think your that far away from me, so keep me posted:handshake:

You could try calling Martha Stewart. She's on Long Island somewhere in the Hamptons' McMansions.:thumbs:
She also has a place on Mt Desert island ( very very private ).

    Keep on keeping on Sav.

I find the shoulder season is hard on the chimney as not too many times i have a ripping blaze going on and alot of creasote making smudges heppening in the box. I will be cleaning ours when they call for the first long cold snap.
