My old man is out cutting

    My dad is 71 and only got a smart phone a few months ago, so it still seems weird to get pics from him.
    A family friend gave him a battery powered winch and he's been itching to try it out. He sent these texts from up on the hill today.

    Good for him! Just because some of turn the corner into our 70's doesn't mean we stop and can even learn new things too.

    That winch is a huge help in getting those logs out of the landings and clear-cuts. Looking at the photos one might think you could drive a pickup out there, but that's not the case. Awsome that your father is out enjoying life at 71.

    I only know it's a Warn battery winch with 1000# capacity.

    Hey, and what are those timbers? They look dry. I assume he needs the winch to get to the bigger stuff inaccessible from the road, and it does look like he took shot with his pistol at the stump!
