Looking for an aftermarket air filter for my ms 462. K&N or maybe the company that has made them for the 044, 440, 660 etc for many years. I browsed awhile, couldn't find any for the 462

I don't have an answer to your inquiry, but Ive been nothing but pleased using outerwear covers on all my saw filters.

Max flow filters makes them for the 661 and the older models. They don't have one for the 462 yet.

I doubt max-flow will make one for a 462 considering it has a clean filtration system already. I'd be shocked if they did.

What do you think is wrong with the air filter to look for aftermarket ?

Mostly just to see what my options are when the stock filter needs replaced. Local dealer isn't really "in to" saws, and alot of times don't have much in stock. Only cutting about 10-12 cords a year between 2 saws so it's really not critical to get another air filter yet. I seen a couple U tube vids where people had K&N filters on 462 , but they must have made their own adapter or something.

Looks like Hotsaws 101. This is what I was talking about above. I'm sure this is custom work and not something a person can order.

I think he sells the part to do this if you want it on your saw.

If I want one I guess I would have to contact him through U tube? I don't believe he has a web site.

I think Jason Eagan makes something up as well, but like I said, I doubt max-flow is gonna hop on and make anything. They don't make any filtration systems for the saws with air injection yet...but I guess you never know.
