I just finished the last piece of Pecan pie with my leftovers dinner, and I do not feel guilty about it.

Now yams, I can do without - all that stringy starchiness is not my thing. Also don't like it when people add marshmallows to sweet potatoes.

Sorry, just an attempt at a joke on my part.
You are correct, they are two different things. I'm not sure who is in charge of the produce section at Market Basket in Warner, but someone decided to use the those terms interchangeably.

What they are selling as "Yams" are instead dark skinned sweet potatoes. And ...NO... there will be no marshmallows EVER, or I will just make some for myself. My favorite is to parboil, skin, large dice, butter with a little brown sugar (not too much) and bake until done.

Yams can be from Asia or Africa, sweet potatoes are North American. Lori & I like yams, my fave is Japanese yams, purple in color, not as stringy.

I remember the that marshmallow on top of sweet potatoes dish from when I was growing up but hadn’t seen it since until this year. Definitely a resurgence this year. Probably pandemic related as people need some comfort food from their childhood.....JMO

Add some real maple syrup to that, and it will be perfect.

At least I still got hair! :p

Slow foxbody my arse. It goes better than any GM even with a gm grenadier under the hood. A mild SBF should get me in the mid 8's ifn I can still wheel it.
