Is there really much difference between the 25 and 30 ton unit? I split a lot of elm with a 12 ton splitter, so I'm not really into the huge tonnage units. In my experience, the higher the tonnage for modern splitters, the slower they are.
Not if they have both a large ram AND high flow pump. Paid $800 for one of -THESE- brand new in the crate. I timed the cycle time to be under the rated 9.5sec. Right around 9.15sec. See -THIS- post as to how I got it that cheap.
It put a little angle on the beam. It's not noticeable unless you look at it from one of the ends at a distance. I was given the option of getting a brand new one or keeping this one for a reduced price. It was no brainer for that price! Where about in SE WI are you?
I'm very close to Grafton. Actually our neighbors on the back side of our house are in the town of Grafton. Funny thing is, 2000-02 before I met my now wife, I lived in Grafton too. At the arrowhead apartments.
whaaat?!!? Are you serious?! LOL That's where we lived! I believe our address was 727 Delaware Ave. Apt B. They were brand new units and we were the first to live in that unit. Most of the units there now were not even built, so it was hard for me to remember where we even lived. I believe the only ones that were built are the units inside of the Arrowhead, Delaware, Cheyenne Ave and Grafton Ave area. I believe the pool/maintenance building (I think it was?) was built while we lived there. Thinking a little more on it, we probably moved in around the summer of 1998 or so and lived there till 2001 ish. I believe this is where we lived, on the ground floor:
