I’m a Truck Driver,(At least I don’t drive for SWIFT) and hear Schitt like that all the time, I just pull up my Big Boy pants and ignore it, sometimes might mention what their lives would be like without us truckers, I guess you don’t have that though.

As to the tandem towing, (Non Commercial)that is a State by State issue. Unfortunately Oregon, where I live doesn’t allow non commercial tandem towing, even with my Doubles/Triples endorsement

Some States Require the lead trailer to be a fifth wheel, but not all. Even though it isn’t Legal, I have pulled my 6x12 tandem axle utility trailer behind a 24’ Ball Coupled Travel Trailer I had, it pulled Wonderful, the tail swing of the lead trailer naturally pushed the tongue out on the second trailer, so there almost no off track, the second trailer followed the lead trailer’s tracks almost exactly, I didn’t have to go any wider cornering. Fifth wheels do have better road manners, but properly balanced Ball Coupled trailers handle just Fine, even in tandem

With a little practice backing tandems isn’t as bad as it would seem with the standard “A Train” commercial doubles, it is the converter Dolly between the trailers that kinks things up so quickly. That con dolly is a third point of articulation, and essentially a third trailer in the set, a Dayum short one at that, I think most here have backed a 4x8, and know what a PITA they are

Many Flatbed, Woodchip and Curtain Van doubles are “B Train” configurations, where the lead trailer’s frame extends past the cargo portion, and has a fifth wheel mounted there, so the second trailer couples directly to the lead trailer, and can be backed very well by an experienced driver. Almost all non commercial tandem towing is more related to “B Trains” than “A Train” configurations, using a receiver hitch and ball, rather than a second fifth wheel, but still directly coupling, rather than a dolly and extra point of articulation.

Twin 28’ doubles are Legal pretty much everywhere AFAIK, with local conditions restricting their use in particular places, mainly due to size restrictions

    Doug

Well, let me chime in here Please. Maina XXL's signature has been like that for years as I can remember and as other Mods have stated. It is not "Purposely" meant to be offensive and if anything in a kind of joking manner. Please let me also state this, below is a refrigerator magnet that was given to me by my father in-law who "Hunted" for 75 years of his life in Wisconsin and one of his best friends was a Chippewa Indian and he actually "Laughed" at me once while Turkey hunting and hence this refrigerator magnet! If you are offended, I can only say this; Try to take it light hearted because a 100% Chippewa Indian did.

You missed it at the cottage this summer yoops. We painted the windows for the car parade at the last day of school since the schools closed in March so they could atleast see eachother. It started it out as a white exclamation point, not sure what happened, but we drove all over with it and to school, and the parade. I was wondering why different teachers were asking if it was a thermometer1 before I realized what it looked like from a distance. The next day I went to take a picture for Chazsbetterhalf and I was mortified.

BTW, when I composed the OP, I was yakking about two very similar make utility trailers coupled, not just any trailers. I have seen big rigs and also boats and other stuff behind 5th wheels.
