I just had my liner installed! Things should time up well. Now I just need to get a plan for how I am going to convince my wife we should have our break-in fires in August.
There should be no problem waiting on the break-in fires. If I were doing a break-in during August, I'd do it out in the driveway before the stove got into the house. We put our last stove in during September and if my memory banks are working, I recall doing the break-in fires in October. We got little or nothing from the stove but the new black pipe was a bear! Fortunately it was right near a window.
I was thinking the same thing Todd. In fact, we still have about 8 pieces of firewood on the porch and I was thinking about burning them to take the morning chill out of the air.....but I didn't.
Great! Ours is ordered, similar color scheme as my avatar. I just put a call in to Lorin today, asking about time frames, but haven't heard back yet.
Just heard back from Lorin, our stove is tentatively scheduled to ship the first week of August. I might go with the extra rear heat shield for flexibility in installation. Without extra heat shield rear clearance is 14" and corners are 6". With the extra rear heat shield it's 6" rear and corners.
No, I'm having this one shipped. I'm just too busy right now to make another drive up there. But this fall I'll need to figure out how to get the next Beta stove here. Might be a good excuse for a fall foliage NH excursion.
Already thinking about.... Actually our weather man, mention that the other night on the late night news....Earliest snow in the KC area was Sept. 22.....
I'll burn our production model Ideal Steel while we're waiting on the Beta Franklin Steel Hybrid. This next Beta is about halfway between my previous Woodstock Fireview and the Ideal Steel in firebox size. It will be interesting to see how it heats compared to the other two. They've got a trick or two up their sleeves for this stove according to unsubstantiated rumors I've heard, so it should be another fun stove to Beta test.
You'll start burning the same time I do, middle of October? I guess you tolerate a cooler house than I do... Like papadave, I will be on the edge of my seat, popcorn in hand.
