Any musicians here? I play the violin primarily. Been doing that for 38 years. I play for the local symphony and teach lessons to kiddos. Any one else have an instrument?
Guitar, mostly. Been playing for maybe 12 years or so, mostly folk, blues, and rock. I'll also noodle on a piano when I get the chance, and have been attempting to play more bass (guitar bass).
Growing up I was a Jazz bassist for a few groups. Even toured with a Polka band. I havent picked it up in a few years though.
Piano...mostly Joplin rags, jazz, stride, and anything else that comes to mind while tinkering around the keys. These days I have more fun with it than I ever have, even though I am no longer conditioned to play as well as I used to. Now I just let it rip now and again to blow off some steam, enjoyment of a reverie, or to play for the family at gatherings in our home to stir up some dancing.
Rhythm guitar player for a lot of years backing up square and contra dances in my area. That, and backing up a lot of fiddlers. I have been in several different bands over the years, mostly backing up dances. Also like most other kinds of music, except progressive jazz and rap. My most fun is going to various festivals to jam. Of course, that was almost non-existent this year, as were the dances. Had a small outdoor jam with four others once a week this summer until the weather closed in.
