Today during lunch I was out looking at some pine trees in the grove and found some hung up dead Mulberry. So of course I had to go and get it after work. Here is the result of my screwing around. My camera quality is not the greatest, but those that complain can send me a new one! I took a six inch piece and split it and it meters at 16 percent. I did have some weird chain stretch though. After making a few cuts the chain would stretch out a bit and then after setting for a minute or two it would go back to a good tightness. Not quite sure what to make of that. Its not a very good chain though, and I needed to get this load in. Anyway, there's some more smaller stuff left that I will go back and get when I get a chance. Its hard not to feel a pressure to go get it even though its been back there for a long time. The only difference is....now I know about it and snow is coming.
A bent link, driver, mashed driver from chain jump, or worn drive sprocket can all cause loose tight loose chain.
The chain is a different chain from when I had the chain jump last week. I did double check it and this chain seems fine (other than being a safety chain). I need to do a little look into the sprocket. It could be goobered up but its hard to tell without taking it apart from the saw.
