I was looking through some of the Black Friday adverts and the prices are double or triple. What the hay? They locked us down for a year, the economy tanks, and prices go through the roof. What the hay? The 25 ton county line splitter is now a grand; $1000.00. It is a decent splitter but I am not sure it is worth a grand.

They had to somehow build that during the shutdown, you’re lucky to be able to get one!

Not here in my neck of the woods. I may have last year's TSC advert; I save such for starting fires, will see if it is still in the stack or not.

In the near future we'll wish we could still get that machine for a grand. There are real world consequences of printing money like it's going out of style.

OK, excuse me why I wipe the egg from my face. I found the advert. The $800.00 price I had in memory was actually the sale price during Black Friday and not the original price. Sorry. I was thinking they had jumped $200.00 in price from last year. So I actually saved $400.00 off the original price when I obtained my splitter; that makes me feel even better on the deal I secured. :rootintootin::banana:

I still stand behind my comment on it being a decent splitter but not great. It will split OK but it has several issues; one is the wear on the beam that has been reported here. The other is the chip/bark/splinters that get pushed up under the wedge and stuck etc; causes issues and sometimes they can get so stuck as almost impossible to dislodge. The motor starts very quickly and it has a decent return time if working alone.

I thought I got shafted when I bought mine in August this year. I also had it in my head that the going rate was about $800. All things considered this year, just being able to get one is a good thing.

The only thing I have seen "double or triple" is lumber and other construction materials. Many products are up significantly in price, but not as much as that. (And many are short supply as well.)

One-year lockdown ... well the first case in China was November 17, 2019, and the first case in the US was January 2020 ...

Sounds pretty good staying home and getting paid for 6 weeks, til you realize the grocery store worker, factory worker, truck driver, equipment manufacturer, lumber mill worker, asphalt plant worker, electronic store worker, etc are all also going to be staying at home and nothing will be available to purchase including stuff you NEED!!! If it is it will be $$$

I really don't know what you're driving at but it's probably best I'm left speculating.
