Ok, so this is about as good as it gets. Wasn’t sure where to post this as it kind of covers so many things on this site. Here’s the deal. I built this smoker the other day. Made it from spruce lumber that came off my sawmill. Needed it to smoke my first try at sausage and some bacon that we made from our spring hogs. Worked better than I had expected. Oh. And I smoked the sausage and bacon on apple wood. Lumber from the mill... hardwood from the stack... and great meat on the grill!

This is a stick burner... I made it so my tiger torch could go in the bottom to help start the fire.

Finished sausage. It turned out really well. Better than I had hoped.

I’ve built a bunch of smokers over the years. We shall see how this one works out. So far I am happy with it. Hot and cold smoking seems to work ok.

It's difficult to not be impressed by this.

    Awesome work!

Did you use a torch to burn the wood on the smoker, or was that character just from use?
