Love it. Our return to NH this year after a long hiatus was well worth it. It brought back the juices to get back into hiking and camping for me. Even the wife realized this and is working with a trainer to strengthen her legs for her knees to be able to do light hikes. I couldn't be prouder of her and excited at the prospect of even glamping with day hikes with her. NH has a ton of light hikes we could do together. For the longer and harder hikes, my cousin or my son could join me. My goal is to get back up Washington and Mt Katadhin again. I'd also like to start planning multi-day hikes like I use to do when I was younger. We did one that took us from Crawford Notch to the lean-to at Dry River Bed. From there we hiked to the top of Washington. Lakes on the Clouds bunks were all booked. Back then you could not book online or in advance. The plan was to spend the night at Tuckerman's Ravine lean-tos. Unfortunately, we learned those were all booked when we reached the summit. Ended up shortening our stay at the summit and hurried down to get a room at Pinkham Notch and dinner there before they closed. Glad you had a great time.

Well.... The water level was as low as we've ever seen it with lots more river rocks exposed. Someone, not me, said we should have brought a gold pan, as its been a long time since the riverbed was so exposed. Where gold is found, it can be found with quartz. There were rocks with quartz sandwiched between granite amo g the many river rocks. He was busting rocks, looking to make a fortune. He went to work today. So, no fortune. Entertaining for us, however.
what a great week for the trip Mike! Looks like you had a great time. You rent that cabin every year, right? Its pretty close to my inlaws house. I think my wife and I are going to try and get up there for the weekend in a week and a half.
We reserve the cabin twice a year. The first weekend in November and President's weekend. The more snow the better in February.
