Just through 2 half chunks into the OWB. That'll hold it till tomorrow evening. The half chunks are cut-offs from a wood processor and range in length from 6" to 12" at the very best...but very rare. These two pieces were probably 8"-10" diameter. The stove is just idling as the blower on the furnace hasn't had to "kick on" dur to the warm and sunshine. Nice! Glad I didn't shut it down for 4-5 days.
It’s 21* out and 72* in only added 4-5 pieces of spruce to the OWB, had enough from last night. I am loving the OWB even if it uses more wood, with the mess outside, I like it, wish I had got one years ago. Today we did 4 cords of spruce and had time for a sled ride. Now time for the buffalo burgers on the pellet grill to finish up.
45 out 67 in no fire again today. Couple more days then maybe a fire Wednesday night. Another great day to cut firewood today around 60 but over 70 tomorrow.
High 60s mid 70s during weekend. Too warm for my liking this time of year, especially when I'm sitting in the stand. Ive still been doing morning fires to take chill off.
Supposed to start getting wet outside in a couple of hours.....already walked twice in these nice temps! 59 was all I could muster for an overnight low.
Rain supposed to hold off here until tomorrow night. Just got home a short time ago. Was 70 when we left Lansing and 74 by the time we got home.
Haven't been on in a while. We had 7 below this morning. Coldest we have had this year is 20 below with the windchill.
Another few days of mild weather here with highs of 57f/14c. It’s nice being able to save wood for the colder weather but it does feel that cold weather at this time of year is getting rarer.
Sounds like a perfect day! We also rode as a family for many years as the kids grew up. Many great memories. Many sleds. Many, many dollar'sGood times!
47 out 66 in at 5 up to 68 now after my wife ran the heat pump for half hour. High in the 70’s again today. Rain and cooler weather is supposed to get here late tomorrow sometime then back to reality and daily fires.
36F and rain. Its been around 70F and sunny for days? The forced air LP made the mistake of kicking on as I made coffee..... Noooo good I say! Just re fired the stove with Elm, Maple and dare I say...... Cottonwood Driest fuel I have ever loaded in this stove. This stuff has been SS and seasoning for 4+ years. Its truly amazing how nice and quick this stuff takes off, chars, and gets ready for a nice long burn setting. Feels like a blessing indeed to have a couple of cord of this stuff safely staged and ready.
