I’ll be getting around to burning it pretty soon. I remember at the time thinking that it felt like a very high BTU wood but I saw that it rained pretty moderately in the BTU charts. Now that it’s been drying a few years, I pick it up and it still feels to me like it’s going to be a high BTU wood. Has anybody had With it?
Buzz saw Brad and being that this would was apparently named after you, feel free to chime in!, LOL

I had some BP that had been sitting for about 3 years. Burned a few pieces in the firepit thinking it would burn down quick for some coals and it still had a bunch of sap in it... Might keep that in mind.

I just split that piece and it tested 20% on the dot. I’ll be curious to see how it does in the stove.

I burnt some last winter that had been split and seasoned for about 2 years. The fire was rolling pretty good and when I opened the door to the insert to add some more wood I used the poker to move the coals around. As soon as I touched the BP log there was a huge shower of small sparks that shot up and out the door. Surprised me, never seen anything like it in the 20+ years I've been using this insert.
