After hauling out the Yellow Birch I decided to start splitting, I would say that I split 1/3 of a cord. The splits are a mixture of Sugar Maple, Red Maple and some Cherry, my guess is 80 percent is Sugar Maple. In picture 9561 is some of the dead Sugar Maple I cut up top, I don't think it would take much to get this at 20-22 percent moisture content.
Well, now you need some black and white birch to go with the yellow but don't forget to put some green birch in there too. Then in the maple, you have hard, soft, silver, red, etc. Now you need to add some purple maple to that and maybe some yellow or blue. After all, you need a good mix but they won't all dry the same. Your moisture readings will be all over the place. For example, that purple stuff will be about 72% when cut and after a year of drying will be down to only about 48.5%.

Just one or two cold ones. My friend calls them caszies. (LOL- that's short for casual beers) I don't know if I spelled it right though. I'll have to ask him.
Lookin Good Zap. That's the same meter I bought last year, never thought I would bother but was scanning e-bay and it was such a deal I said why not. I worked on a little splitting over the 4th weekend but haven't got back at it again. Just spent this weekend burying a dog fence.
