Nice. (Thank goodness for "ferncos" huh? :D)

I hope if you put up a ceiling, it will be a removable one. (Yeah, 99 lbs won that discussion too!)

 :thumbs: That kinda shows you how many times that pipe has been changed over the years. From serving five apartments and eventually down to one household. There have been a few changes. I’m thinking of different options for the eventual ceiling. But with the cost of everything wood I’m thinking of using Sheetrock and painting it before I put it up. Then screw it up with a decent pattern of screws and do not mud it. Leaving screws exposed in case I need to get to “stuff”. I thought about doing plywood that way but the prices are :loco:

Ohh the fernco's you will see!!

A couple of years ago, I put in a couple in a semi problematic drain where the laundry sink goes into the main drain. It's easy to snake out now, but less necessary because I insist on using laundry lint traps on the washing machine that empties into that drain.

Regarding the ceiling, I used 3/4" beaded styrofoam cut into 2' X 8' lengths and then used 1X4 pine to trim out all the seams. I screwed the pine to the ceiling joists which holds the styro in place.

Didn't even want to do that, but I can't tell you how many times I have taken down and put that stuff back up in order to gain access! At least twice a year!

Today has been a great day so far. The stove installers took care of the stove install. Everything went great.

I was planning to cut some dead spruce branches and make kindling and mulch leaves, but the wind was gusting to 40 mph. I went outside and found the dead spruce in the side yard went down. At least it did not end up in the road.

I took the MS170 and cut the limbs and saved the bigger ones for the stove and the rest for the burn pile. Most of the tree was bucked into 20" pieces and will get processed before winter.

    Load 'er up!

Most of the brush is out back at the burn pile now. Lots of little snapped branches to clean up. We have some snow squalls happening to really make it feel like fall. Most of the leaves blew into the woods too.

Good luck. Took neighbor's eight months to get to close on selling their house. Sold in January.

that bridge is cool looking. We don't have anything that old in our area but parts of BC has pieces of bridges and tunnels from that era.
