No fire here tonight; the wind has been picking up slowly but the temperature has also been rising at the same time. Very strange feeling it getting unseasonably warmer as the night sets in.

35F out, 69F inside. Just filled the OWB with oak and maple. Still very windy out but sunny. Thinking it's a good day besides the wind to go sit in the tree stand.

Good luck with the hunt, but on a windy day like today, I learned to stay out of the woods!

Dropped from 54 to 38 through the day and our first snow. Just put some cherry and beech in the stove.

    There ya are!

Why is the handle on the door facing inwards? Personal preference or is the door open a bit?

Just started a fire he said. Door possibly cracked to get it going. Just my guess.

It's going to be 35f in the morning here. It's 60f right now. Had fire going all day, burning low n slow. Burned oak all day. Opened window late this afternoon cause it hit 80f in the stove room!

Ya, I normally don't go out on windy days but it's been a few weeks since I could go out due to projects that needed to be done, last Sunday I mixed and poured 56 bags of concrete, so even with low hopes I was itching to sit. Seen 5, none came closer then 160 yards, little to far for the bow lol

On the commute in -22*F was the coldest I saw coming into work today. A little cooler than forecasted. We are forecasted with single digit highs and negative upper single to low teens. We are making ice now and options should start opening up off road transportation. I need the Tanana river to freeze so I can start harvesting some standing dead spruce.

39 and 75 this morning. Rained most of the night and now the wind is starting to pick up and it’s supposed to get into the 40’s, temperature and winds. 20’s with flurries tonight, then 60 later in the week. Shoulder season for sure. Just hemlock in the stove so far.

22F here this morning, loaded a Poplar Cherry mix overnight. Same for this morning. Love standard time when it's light enough to see outside in the morning. Supposed to be close to 70 by the weekend.
