19F here this morning. A load of Red Maple/ Black Birch blend saw us safely through the night. Awoke to some amazing coals 9.5 hours since the last load.

32* out 69* in....red maple and elm are gonna do their job of bringing the house temp back up. I've only been putting 3 or 4 splits in at a time. Its not cold enough to load up the nc30 yet...

Snowed at higher elevations all day yesterday. Nothing stuck.
I piled in a lot of softwood in front of boiler this summer and hoping I don’t regret it. Usually don’t have to get into much hardwood till end of December. Load of spruce, alder, and cherry still cooking from last nite

Currently hovering around freezing. Black Cherry has been pushing out the heat and I just threw some 3 year seasoned red oak on top. The house is feeling nice and cozy.

We ran one bag of pellets through the pellet stove overnight, we had 17.4 this morning with the temp up here at 71.

We started burning Cherry this morning while we had coffee.

We had a halloween fire tonight, everything was snow covered and wet. Temps in the 20's and snow on the ground. That's how we do it in NH.

I still have not figured out the weather forecast from last night. Forecast a low of 47 degrees then today's high is supposed to be 40. How can the high be lower than the low? Does the temperature magically snap from 47 to 40? I've been around a few years but have yet to see that happen. Also, I've stayed up waiting for it to happen so I could experience it once in my lifetime.
