Edit: light rain started around 5:45 am. The next day or two its supposed to be in the 40s/50s with rain. Cool and wet is not a good combo :shiver:

36 and light rain this morning. Just enough coals left to relight the hemlock and beech. Might be done with kindling until spring looking at the forecast.

It's been in the mid to upper 40s all day here with a rain that won't quite go away. Good day to stay indoors and enjoy being dry and warm. I have a combination of cedar, spruce and tulip poplar going that has become my new go-to shoulder season mix as of recently. Upcoming weekend low temps will warrant burning some harder woods, which will be a welcome change.

Upper 20's and looks wet outside...not white! Forecasters were wrong about us getting snow yesterday and overnight. (Oops, did I say that out loud?)

In the 30's here this morning, some Cherry went in the Liberty. We have a cooler night tomorrow with the temp dipping below 20 so we'll burn a combo of Sugar Maple and Cherry.

40's here now dropping into the 30's overnight. Dropping into the 20's over the weekend. Right now I am burning cherry, odd shaped oak pieces and some small apple branches (wrist thickness). I will probably add some ash to that. When it turns colder I have plenty of red oak, black locust and sugar maple to burn. I will rely on my wife to keep it going most of the weekend as I will be out trying to thin the herd.

32° out at the moment here. First snow of the season started around 4 am. Transitioned over from the rain quickly. Tonight into tomorrow forecast has us at 16° with 10° wind chill. Next four nights in the forecast we’re in the 20s. Will bring in some three year split oak for tonight. Been burning ash otherwise since first lighting on September 18. The weather has been so up and down though we’ve only had the wood stove going maybe 20 times since that first burn in September. Looking forward to these next few days of lower temps.
