My affinity for small engines has certainly spilled over into my fire wood hoarding addiction. The latest project in the shop was a 372 clone build, which I enjoyed doing very much. Matthew Olson's videos on YouTube are such a great reference for such things, so check them out if you're considering doing an OEM or aftermarket build.
372 folks: How long of a bar are you running? I'm thinking 24" would be just about right for some of the massive maple I have to buck, but I could be convinced otherwise.

And when it rains it pours. Talking saws with my stepfather, and he says "Here. Get these running if you can," and hands me a Jonsered 670 and a Husky 61. Apparently they were run a couple years ago, but have about 30 years worth of gunk in the housings. Should be fun.

You can tell she's gobbled some wood. Those dogs look pretty worn. Did you re sharpen them at one point?

Mine wears a 28” most of the time. But doesn’t get used a lot. I got several other saws with various size bars. I wish I could get more big wood so I could run it more. It’s a fun one

Sorry, I must have missed the question in the original post. Yes, a 20" or 24" bar is the best size for a 372 imo. I think going over that is asking a lot for a 70 cc class saw for anything other than occasional use. It'd run a 28", but not optimally.
