27f with light snowfall. Silver maple it fireplace. Looking forward to our insert that will be installed before the real cold sets in. We went with the Regency Hampton i2450.
OWB keeping both house and domestic water heated. Threw in two 1/2 chunks this morning to keep the temps up. Mid 20's this morning with some fresh snow. Easy to move this stuff as it was not heavy with moisture at all.
Not as cold as predicted overnight. Stayed heavy clouds but now we're seeing a little sun. Temp 40 now.
About 50f here today, burning all sorts of chunks and uglies; some cherry, apple, cypress and sycamore. Lovely.
-23c/-9f under clear skies this morning. I was going to get some firewood today for next year but figured Id wait until next weekend when it will be a bit warmer. Smoking a roast in the Kamado Joe today! Spruce and Pine is my morning reload.
Mid 40s and rainy. Have some Black cherry, pine and tree of heaven cooking. Saw this at big box store. Most I ever saw being asked for a bundle.
First fireplace fire of the season. 43 out and drizzly and the kids were begging for a fire. Cleaned the flue today and threw on some maple, ash and cherry. Not cold enough to fire up the Kumma yet.
Yep... I think we have three of those possible... Monday through Wednesday... Its going to be a chilly start of the week...
It’s a whopping 1 degree f here right now. Snowing hard too. Burning an elm and aspen mix. House is 76 degrees. A bit warm for my liking - but it’s gonna be a chilly night!
Mid 20’s here 3-4 inches of fresh snow. Not ready for this crap! Blowing thorough shoulder wood like crazy (boxelder and cottonwood) supposed Tom”warm up” by the end of the week.
I’m about 140 miles East of you and I’m really hoping the warm up is coming too. Mid to end of the week is actually looking good.
The west has a nasty (for October) cold snap going on. It's 25F and they say headed for 9F in the morning. Burning Lodgepole pine and western juniper.
This was yesterday AM. Supposed to be a little colder this morning. The horses are blanketed, and the dogs are inside. We just moved. New place has an older insert, and based on our wood consumption so far, I think I'm going to miss our little Kuma CAT stove. Man, that thing just nibbled wood and made heat. This one takes 4-5 splits of fir a night to keep the house comfy.
