Going to install a replacement blower in a friend's NG fireplace today. I'll bring all applicable tools even though I expect this to be easy as the old blower still works, but is super loud. It's a Napoleon gas FP.
They are providing pizza and beer. :pete:

Thanks Mark. Been bringing some uglies in today, we are suppose to have some snow come in tonight. The ugly wood is always first to go.

Ugly wood is all I've been burning so far this season. Uglies, shorts, punky but dry, all that making BTU's because the stove doesn't care:fire:

Got up on a ladder this morning and finally lopped off a limb from my neighbor's yellow birch tree that was hanging low into my yard. Not a large limb but I ended up with a wheelbarrow full of decent firewood. I got a roaring fire going in the pit with some gnarly chunks of Locust and punky Ash and incinerated all the green branch wood. It's a little windy here today and after 3 times sucking up leaves today with my lawn tractor, I'm giving up. We're past peak leaf peeping season but we're a ways to go before they're all on the ground. Trying to stay on top of it this year but it's an uphill battle.

Posting here since it pertains to a couple different threads in different forums. High winds today which is bad for the wildfires (ours is holding at 176K acres thanks to our firefighters <3 ) . Snow is coming!!

Gas fireplace blower replacement went pretty easily, despite a very small space to work in. I had to drill out the two blower mounting holes because the machine screws were a bit too big, but luckily I brought my drill bits. Pizza and beer was great as well.

I moved some wood up to just outside the garage today. I measured it to a little over 3 cord. I'm about 2/3 full. When I'm done I should have a little under 5 cord brought up from the drying area.

It was dark by the time I got done so I had to use a headlamp. The middle 2 pallets have all oak. I figure there is about 1.3ish cord there...

Shot a grocery doe last night...going to butcher it today. If all goes according to plan that will be the only productive thing I do all day. It's been a heck of a week and I could use a break.
