    I've had Dave's email for several years and we always kept in contact thru that when he would go south every winter. Suddenly he seemed to drop off the map last winter. I've sent numerous email to him since. They never come back as undeliverable but I also don't get an answer. Such a shame.

    I wrestled the Castine into place today. Install in one week. Everything is centered on the hearth and plumb. Stove pipe is plumb both ways. I'll remove the telescoping pipe for now, but there will be no need to re-position the stove. It should be a straightforward install.

    I am going to forge a new damper handle at some point. The slate needs a little more cleaning of the grout, but it will get done eventually.

    20" from door glass to front of hearth. Two inches over code...
