Another great use for pallets besides stacking wood. Clearing an area of land out for a future pole barn/shed (lumber prices need to come down 1st) which needed a bit of leveling. Had a few beefy pallets laying around so I rigged up a very rudimentary pallet drag. Put a few nails in it, added some weight and even used my son as weight (forgive the blurred face) he got a kick out of riding on it and trying to surf it. I am sure there are some improvements I can make, but overall worked out pretty well. I still have a hump area I am working on.
That worked pretty good it looks.. I screwed some angle iron on the bottom of one I have.. Worked ok and like yours the price was right.
I thought about adding some angle iron but didn't have any laying around. I started looking around on how to make a drag and all these costs started adding up, I took one look at the pallet laying in the yard and said shoot, free is for me....
It might work better to put the weight on the rear. If you have any short planks you can bolt them together so that the second one is fastened on the rear of that; just overlapped enough to allow bolting then another behind that one. Works fairly well and better than a pallet. Then there is the old bed springs pulled behind atv or tractor.
Thanks Dennis! I was tinkering with adding weight in the front and the back. With my son it was easy I just told him scoot up or back, worked well with him, ha!
