Your stacks are growing fast. You are getting ahead & have lots of quality wood ! Seems you wood source is never ending this year. No log loads this year , eh ?

Septic tank is pretty shallow if you were worried about a tree damaging it? Mine is about 6ft down. Probably could drive a Mack truck over it and be ok.
Well, "growing fast" might be a slight overstatement. Might make me sound like a wuss, but the ticks have kept me at bay for a couple months. No log loads for at least a couple years. I did that a couple times to set me up for a few years, and it's worked. However, I got a little behind last year and this. The log loads spoiled me. Plan to get at it again soon. The heat doesn't bother me too much......I just slow down when it gets too warm. Ever see a turtle moving backward? Sis-in-law is finally retiring and coming up, so she'll be helping I'm sure.....some firewood for her, and some for me from her place. If I can get another 2 cord of Oak, then fill in with Maple and the Spruce I'll be taking down, I'll be in good shape. I'll get more if I can. The 30 is still the wildcard in all this, since I have no idea if it's going to actually use less wood. If it does, I'll be gooder to go.
Plan for about the same wood usage as last year, add a cord & you should be good to go. Long term forecast (climate trend) is for another "real winter" in your area.
Yep, I always put extra up front. This year is a bit over 5-1/3 cord in the shed, and I may pull a little more of something before winter, just to be on the safe side. Or, I could go grab some in late March-early April to finish up.
I hate "long" winters. I can deal with snow, but the ice and deep cold are just is too much. This summer is flying by us so fast. We have had a few warm days. Only have the AC in the bedroom, but have enough for the rest of the house if we really get a prolonged warm spells. Hasn't been hot here this year.
