What pellets did you get for this season & how many? Did you get early bird free shipping? Any pics?

The local Home Depot store has LaCrete - about 80 pallets of them. Interesting, never seen LaCrete sold at a Home Depot store before now.

    Hi,
One small point, should not this thread be moved to The Pellet Bag forum?

I will answer the question of this thread. I purchased and received delivery of 7.2 tons
of North Country in about May from McManus Fuels.
I am pleased with the great service, the advice, and the prices of McManus Fuels.

Over the past few weeks, whenever I have been at Lowe's or Home Depot, I checked whether they have any
damaged bags of wood pellets. I have been able to bring home about 1/2 dozen bags from each visit
at 1/2 price, which comes out to about $2.74 per damaged bag. A few weeks ago, when I got home with
the first load of damaged bags, I weighed the first five bags. Each bag was missing 2 to 3 lbs of pellets. Only
one bag was 5 lbs lighter, than 40 lbs. No water damage, just holes in the plastic.

When I find the damaged bags at the BBS, some of the bags have already been placed in a second "salvage
bag" or I help the retail employee place the damaged bag into another salvage bag. Sometimes I even grab
a broom and dust pan and sweep-up pellets from the floor. If a person takes the initiative to look over any
unwrapped stacks of bags of pellets at a BBS, you will likely find a few bags in which the corners have been torn-off
by the fork lift. I have found bags with a half-dollar size hole in the plastic, the BBS was happy to sell me the
bag for 1/2 price. A BBS employee told me that some bags get damaged because a customer does not support
the bag well while picking it up and they accidently push one or two fingers through the plastic.

Oh,don't get me wrong, quite some years ago I burned "Oakies",but I really do not remember about the quality. As they are now owned by Lignetics, would be interesting to find out.

Those are sold at my local Aubuchon's for $8/bag or $300/ton. Okanagan is just a name now, bought by American Biomass Corporation in 2016. Who knows what actually goes into them now. I got some of those Oakie Platinums a couple of years ago when they were $7/bag and giving $10 rewards for buying 10 bags. They aren't bad, just not worth the price to me.

I got some of the Okie Golds, back when they were still Viridis Energy and finally dug the rest of them out of the bottom of a stack last year. Today's "Platinums" are way more expensive, but not any better than the golds.
