I do the same for all of my premium non-E gas. The only E gas I buy goes into my car.

I try to use Stabil treated E free fuel in every small engine except the mower, or the splitter if Im using it hard. I then put E free in before letting them sit for extended periods.

I had a can of seafoam kicking around in my shed for a while. My mom had given me her push mower when she sold her house. It had sat for a few years and would run ok, but would randomly cough a lot. I put a very heavy seafoam mixture into the fuel one time, and it cleared the cough right up.

I don't have many options for non ethanol unfortunately. What has worked well is a nice mix of Sta-Bil and Seafoam (or one of the offbrands). Dump that mix in, shake it up, let it run and you should be good to go. It's worked well in all my stuff...from Stihl to Poulon.

I use E-Free gas mixed with full synthetic 2 stroke oil at 40: 1 and 1/4 oz. of Lube Control LC20. Been using this for five years in all 2 strokes with no issues.
Had a bad experience with SF in a pressure washer the carb was full of green slime when I took it off to clean it. Once I got it cleaned and fresh gas it started right up.

So, along the same lines of the OP's question; there are two schools of thought with small engine storage. Some empty gas and run engine dry. Others believe that this dries out seals and hoses. Which method is correct? :hair:
