I thought you all might like this little video of me trimming the butt end of this 36" red oak log. FWIW, the saw has been ported by Mastermind Worksaws and I put in a high-output oiler to handle the longer bar and a MaxFlow air filter. This is NOT the best this saw can cut. The chain is RMF full-skip semi-chisel and the tune was not optimized. Anyways, it got the job done and made me smile. Can't asks for anything more.
Yep. I got 5 logs @ 8'6" from that red oak and another 5 from a slightly smaller white oak, so it's time to get them to the mill. As you can see at the end of the video, the pith is way off center and there is a little rot in the base, but both of those defects cleared up within the first/but log and the rest is good.
