I could have held out another 2-3 weeks easy, but the wife wanted the stove started. So start her I did.

Cheers to everyone here. Let's have a great wood burning season, and enjoy the warmth from all the hard work we've done to get here!!!

I had it hooked up to an 80 gallon water tank for storage and it had a dump zone which was a loop of Pex tubing about 75' long. It was hard to control, and the stove made more heat than I needed. Even with the dump zone it blew water on the floor from the TC valve a couple of times. Not being home enough to baby it, I decided to just disconnect it.

Hook it back up as a driveway heating loop. You'll never run out of heating needs then.;)

Could you run it on the outside of the stove for less heat but more controllability?

We have had a couple fires but not today. Like Ronaldo it was 80 here today. Was sweating at the pumpkin patch with the family. Low 30s by next weekend!

I think the best solution would be a much larger storage tank which I don't have the room for, or a longer dump zone, like out into a detached garage, which I don't have. My fairly newly paved driveway (couple years ago) won't be getting torn up to add radiant heat lines underneath. LOL. Besides I love plowing and blowing snow too much, I don't want a bunch of slush!!!

The best wood boilers seem to have water jackets surrounding them. If I get a new stove, I think I may get one like that.

You missed the opportunity to run coils before you repaved the driveway.;)
