I did try that at first but it filled up fast so there was still a lot of up and down the stairs. Now I fill my trailer wheel it over slide the entire trailer load down then stack. This way I can always close and lock the bulked door if I don’t get it all stacked the same day. There was a member that built a permanent opening with a large diameter pipe that went into a box below it was pretty slick. I have thought about it but I don’t have access to a large core drill.
I’ve debated making a plywood ramp that goes over the stairs. I can fit about a full cord and still close the bulkhead doors
Stacking 2018/19 Firewood Bogydave had a cool set up. Alway had great pics as well. It seems he is no longer a member.
Still shows as active member...he hasn't checked in for a bit...but that's not unusual for many members...
Firewood and kindling all ready . Chimney cleaned stove cleaned and new gaskets. White pine moved up and in racks by rear door. Second pic with shovel is emergency blizzard supply by side of house. Third pic is main wood for season (oak) from Hurricane Sandy. Covered trailer will be loaded and pulled up and parked by back door in November. Kindling in red milk box is cedar fencing cut up and stacked. Last pic is of cherry wood skids for those special fires.
Great looking stacks gang! I'll burn most of this but should have a face cord or two left over. Some shoulder season maple wood! Main woodshed that needs topping off, mostly oak but small amount of maple and pine mixed in. Another cord of Maple & Oak
the outside the front door stack for the main floor stove. The stacks for the basement that burns 24/7 oct-March
The garage is filled with double stacked Ash, Maple and some Hickory. I have the trailer filled and will finish off the shed this weekend.
Mine are scattered among my woodyard. I'm currently drawing from this 8ft rack of ash. Behind the ash is black locust. It was standing dead, cut last fall. Hoping to use it in February. Here's the other side of the BL. Covered with a piece of former waterbed a friend was getting rid of. There's 3-8ft racks here. The two right most, are ready. Oak. A little over a cord here. Red oak. And, a couple stacks of what was standing dead red oak. Maybe some maple mixed in.
The shed is loaded with enough for the winter. My friend helped stack the wood in my shed then we loaded his truck for his house.
When I put bogydave it didn’t come up so I just figured... Edit strange it didn’t highlight in the text box but was in the post..,
