Silver Maple?

    Picked this up after work, everything I could find stated it was silver maple. I guess I’m looking for confirmation, please and thank you

    Yes sir. The deep set lobes are a tell tale sign. Most other Maples like Red Maple and Sugar .Maple have much shorter set lobes

    Love that SM...had a small fire in the stove the other night...there was a piece of mystery wood in the load that must have been a bit wet yet as the fire was not taking off well...threw a piece of SM in and it was off to the races! :thumbs:

    I agree. It’s good stuff. It’s not the heaviest of hardwoods, but it burns great. I grab all I can find.

    I burned a lot of Silver Maple last Winter and was very happy with it. Neighbor had some monsters taken down (i took 2 down that I could 3 years ago)
    Neighbor’s brother in law said he didn’t want it due to not being hard enough Dude its free. lol I think the big pieces scared him. Gonna be a noodle fest for some of the biggins. [​IMG]
