So today is my 50th birthday, took the day off from work and decided to start on a “temp” lean to project. I have to move some firewood to give some room to have 3 oaks cut down after the new year. Decided the side of my very old deck would be a great place to build it and store a good amount of wood Rough dimensions will be 12’ wide, 6’ high and 5’ 6” deep. A good amount of the material is lumber I was using for firewood racks that I have relocated. Will hopefully get the rafters in place next week with the corrugated roofing as well.
Made some progress. Rafters, purlins, roofing panels complete ( short one panel) have to finish with removing temp braces, install some 4X4 angle supports for the front, etc. Started moving some wood as well. It’s beer time now.
Thanks Brad. The wood that will go in here is only a year old so far. Looking at next year to start burning it. I use some of this year old wood in my fire pit and it burns pretty good for only a year old. The wood in this pic is mostly 3.5 yr old red oak and 2+ year old black locust. This will be used in the fireplace this season.
Not sure of the name/brand. Picked them up a couple of years ago (Lowe’s/depot) and ripped them to width to cover individual stacks. Stopped at Depot and Lowe’s this weekend hoping to pick up one more panel and they didn’t have any. I hope I can find one more panel to covert the end.
