    I went to an auction over the weekend. They had some machines that they were selling, lathe, band saw, milling machine, cnc, etc. it was all setting on pallets and blocks for easier loading later. The fella standing next to me noticed and pointed out the growth rings on this 4x4. I wonder what kind of tree it was 5D45A084-1D3A-4708-86B7-CFF345055B0F.jpeg that’s some pretty fast growing

    I have scrounged boards like that. Has a center pith. Not sure of the species but ive seen that in "utility" wood. PT 4x4's are Southern yellow pine which has wide growth rings, but i dont think thats what your wood is.
    Leave it to you SHB to be looking at the wood! I know i would be too!
