I find it hard they can predict this, usually they can’t tell you what yesterday’s weather was. There are some historical facts to back it and we have had 2 very mild winters and a few before that was not bad. 7 year cycle seem to be the norm.

Woke up to drip, drip, drip coming from the (new) master bath shower. I thought it was just the shower head dripping but my wife got up to check it out and there was water leaking from the recessed light over the shower.

I have an old section of vent stack there that only goes through the roof (doesn't connect to anything) that I've been waiting on a cooler day to get up in the attic and tie into my vent stack...the roof penetration was temporarily capped with a plastic bag an rubber bands.

I'm guessing a crow saw something shiny and stole my bag...there's no way wind blew it off, left the pipe open for condensation to develop and drip down the pipe, and leak into my shower.

I got up in the attic to tie the pipes together before work but there is not enough pitch on the roof to connect them. I capped the old roof penetration and completely abandoned it...will install a new stack boot directly above the new vent stack. I drilled a screw through the roof to mark the new penetration and will install tomorrow after the sun gets on and softens up the shingles a little.

My attic is 4-12 pitch, trusses 16" OC. I don't fit up there very well....still all cramped up from crawling around up there.

Hindsight 20-20, and all that. Thankfully it didn't tear up any drywall too bad. Will need a little paint, but that should have it back as good as it was.

Great! Again, that will work out well for us because most of our lights are in the living room where we spend almost all of our night (non- sleeping) time!

    This thread delivers!

Use when it gets dark if possible. They are all in the nest by dark and you get the entire hive and won’t get bit by flying bees. I used the Long distance spray can one year just before dusk. They were paper wasps I believe and the ones that weren’t in the hive chased me the next morning. For a couple of days I walked out of the house to go to work with a piece of cardboard to bat them down. Never realized how aggressive bees can be.

Guess it could have found a worse spot and time to leak, eh?! Small win...

Caffeine! Time to take a day off with the family. And do a whole lot of nothing. Relaxing and several good meals on the agenda. And a walk through the woods. All you hoarders have a good day. And...Hey, let’s be careful out there.

So far so good. Been quite busy and then on Thursday realized I could spend the day watching baseball and be Okay with it. No deadlines to get things done. I have one project that needs to be done each week but I can work around that.

I learned there was a hail storm about 20 miles from us a couple days ago. Said the next morning the ground was still white. Did a nasty job on some beans and corn too.

Was supposed to be colder this morning but we only got down to 37. No fire in stove overnight but was not cold this morning.
