I thought I was wasting my time thinking this was an old soft maple tree until I started cutting and smelled the oak stink. Pleasantly surprised . Some nice rounds came out of the 12’ long 4’ dia log. The top has been gone a couple years. So an easy cleanup. Where the rounds showed all the rings my boy counted 106 and the root rot hole was pretty neat too. The guys son enjoyed hiding out down there. I did smoke a chain after hitting a power line mount about 4” in at one spot. Not bad for a town tree.

Very nice score. Cool pic of the young boy inside the stump. Sure gives an idea of how big it was.
