    Buddy of mine has a neighbor who hired a fella to drop 8 of these dead elm out back of his house the other day and asked me if i wanted them? :cheers: Met the fella who ended up being a cool dude with almost a full guaranty there is no steel in them. He even said he would replace any chains if i did happen to see sparks.:salute:

    Yeah, limbs and twigs dont look like the elm I've encountered...they look too big. Also see some branches that are opposite which indicates ash. Whop a couple pieces with a maul, :axe:,that'll probably finalize it for you, if you haven't decided by that point.

    Definitely not Ash with those leaves.

    Looks like a Swamp White Oak leaf.

    They were all dying the last couple years and i am pretty sure i've never cut any down out here at the house and it is a smooth bark.
    Will grab a couple blocks tomorrow sir as its supposed to rain again but now i'm being nosey.:cheers:

    It looks like ash from the first pics, but those leaves. Those are some sort of burr/ swamp White oak.

    Either way, when if it were elm, it would all be great BTU's in a year or 3. ;)

    Those trees look too tall and straight to be Elm, They look like Ash. Could that Oak leaf be from a nearby tree?

    There is a cluster to the right of Titan in second picture mr,finn and it is from the top tree in the first picture.
