Buddy of mine has a neighbor who hired a fella to drop 8 of these dead elm out back of his house the other day and asked me if i wanted them? Met the fella who ended up being a cool dude with almost a full guaranty there is no steel in them. He even said he would replace any chains if i did happen to see sparks. And he will deal with the limbs.
Thats what i am a thinking and will re-check tomorrow. Either way i am pleased to help this guy out. Crappy rain day today so it was a quick picture day. Also can get the truck right to it all.
Yeah, limbs and twigs dont look like the elm I've encountered...they look too big. Also see some branches that are opposite which indicates ash. Whop a couple pieces with a maul, ,that'll probably finalize it for you, if you haven't decided by that point.
I am gonna be all over this tomorrow gang. Titan aint allowed as he already found a girl friend there. Little pug
Awesome looking trees Loon Nice and straight! Great deal with the nail guarantee. Dontcha wish you had that on all wood you cut?
They were all dying the last couple years and i am pretty sure i've never cut any down out here at the house and it is a smooth bark. Will grab a couple blocks tomorrow sir as its supposed to rain again but now i'm being nosey. I hear ya buzz!
It looks like ash from the first pics, but those leaves. Those are some sort of burr/ swamp White oak. Either way, when if it were elm, it would all be great BTU's in a year or 3.
Those trees look too tall and straight to be Elm, They look like Ash. Could that Oak leaf be from a nearby tree?
There is a cluster to the right of Titan in second picture mr,finn and it is from the top tree in the first picture.
