There is a guy on the way into my camp that has a huge “cover it” type shelter with an insane amount of cut and split wood. Hundred plus cord. And a pile of logs the size of a football field. I wanted to stop and take a pic last time I was up but on the way home there is usually little time for stops. I think the guys name is Haws or something like that. savemoney may have seen it on rt27 by christy’s store.
Pass it a bunch, that’s my route to the lakes region and further north. I’ll bet most all of that wood will be burned this winter...
Honestly I think it’s up to the user to make sure there supply is dry. There are very few actual dry firewood sellers. Seasoned means nothing.
Seasoned means it will taste good. Now, seasoned wood can mean different things to different people. A non FHC'er saying seasoned means a lot let than if a FHC'er says it's seasoned. Otherwise if it's not dry enough, it's still "seasoning".
They are misleading the people buying because the word seasoned to most of the public is teady to burn dry wood
That’s the issue, most people do not know how dry wood should be for burning in a safe manner. And that there is no standard for the term seasoned. So I would say people are uniformed not so much the guy that sells wood is misleading. I respect that you take pride in providing your customers with a quality product.
i get an honorable mention in this, i requested a moisture reading on the seasoned wood and “seasoned “ logs. Im Nh Hillbilly on you tube. very Hard working young kid.
