This is the first truckload I’ve bought while here, as I usually cut and skid our own trees. However, between a crazy Fall last year and little spare time this year we used my wife’s work benefit and got a load (we pay trucking and stumpage, so this will be under $400). Looks like Red Maple, White Ash, Red Oak, White Birch, and maybe a little Sugar Maple.

:bug: 12 cord for under $400? Wow that's a deal. Running $1080 for 12 cord right now.

If your just paying stumpage do you work for a logging company?

My wife is the office manager of a logging company, and all employees get this deal on one load per year. I’ve always cut our own because I’m removing sub par trees to improve our woodland, but I’ve been distracted, so we went this route.

I can feel the warmth already. Cutting, splitting, stacking. and of course when you burn.

WOW! 12 cords of that kind of wood would easily bring $6000 if you chopped, seasoned and sold it in my area. I could make a living off of those types of loads. That stuff is making me drool.

I was just talking with my secretary about if she brought her wood in yet. She said NO, I still have to buy it! I said, what do they charge you, she said its really cheap. 4 cords for a grand.

I'm sure its not seasoned either. At best she's getting mid grade BTU wood that's 6 months split. I just kept my mouth shut and left her office smiling to myself. The average "wood burner" is pretty clueless.

    Hey! Nothing wrong with that!

I get rounds bucked (usually) around 16" dropped off 2-4 cord at a time in my driveway....for free...it's got to be like a dozen loads so far in the past year (exactly when I started).

Since I got too many shorties I give those away now.

But those are some beautiful logs. I wish I could come help you buck 'em up!
