So close, yet so far away

    There’s a park near my house. It’s actually a man-made spit into Lake Ontario built out of construction material like old bricks and concrete. Really cool spot and we go for family bike rides there.

    I stumbled on this mother lode today. Mostly poplar, but there’s also lots of ash, maple and some cherry.
    Would love to bring the chainsaw and collect some but....probably off limits

    Looks like a lot of straight wood, hopefully you can pick some up. It would be shame if it all has to rot.

    Find out who runs the park and ask if it’s permissible. Could offer up a liability form like Brad uses. Can’t hurt to ask. I do feel your pain though. I recently discovered a similar goldmine in the town I work in but was told it’s off limits due to liability

    Somebody drove there to drop those off.
    Maybe you could drive there and pick some up and take them home to cut up?

    big gate at the park entrance. Restricted access. I’d have to get a trailer that I can pull behind my bike

    it’s pretty much a pipe dream at this point
