Took down a maple at my brother’s place that was leaning towards his house. About a third of the top branches did not lead out. Better safe than sorry. Also picked up some older black walnut he’s had stacked for a while. Used 3 different tools to convince the tree to fall where we wanted it: 1. Plunge cut with hinge 2. Wedges in leaning side 3. 2:1 mechanical advantage with snatch block Brother was driving the truck with the rope on the tow hooks. Ran some video of cutting the back strap and felling the tree. You can see the lean toward the garage. The rope is anchored with straps to a shagbark hickory to the left (off screen) and through a snatch block on a tree strap on the tree to the tow hook on the truck.
