These are all today. The colors have changed faster than I ever recall. The Red Oaks (top third of the hill) are changing nearly a month early, likely due to the drought.
We are really turning up here unfortunately I cannot drive and snap photos yet!! Time for a daughter driving lesson through Smugglers Notch
It's the same here, we have some really nice colors but I haven't taken the picture taker yet because I've been driving and there's a ton of traffic. Any areas that don't get a good amount of sun haven't changed yet or are changing slowly.
Really stunning colors so far this year in NW CT. The wet, low spots started turning a couple weeks ago. Everything else started early last week. Birches and maples came in FAST during that four night stretch of low 30s. Hit 29 with a hard frost the third night. Here’s a picture from yesterday morning before the clouds rolled in. Oaks and hickories are still just thinking about showing some color. Everything else is really bright and popping.
Group of maples in the back of the field. The usher in fall for us. Took this picture last night to send to my daughter at school.
I agree with the Vermonters, early colors this year. Taken yesterday in Southern VT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
By ErikR The color peaked this week and last night's rain took a lot of leaves off the trees. I'm surrounded my oaks and maples My front yard... with wood piles.
Colors have peaked already...last week Thu and Fri were the best. Now, it is amazing how many trees are over 75% bare! (had a wind storm blow through....)
I originally posted these 2 pictures in the off topic section. I hadn't realized there was a Fall Color thread here. When the post got moved the pic might not have made it. Here they are in the correct thread....
